Throughout the year Gosforth Pottery runs Residential Pottery Courses for all ages and abilities. You can learn to throw a pot on the potter’s wheel and discover handthrown pottery techniques to create your own pots or sculptures – a great way to develop your pottery skills or learn a new craft, and make new friends.

Our Lake District pottery courses are in the perfect location to inspire creativity in the beautiful, relaxing surrounds of the stunning Western Lakes offering both the Lakeland hills and the sea. In our pottery shop we have pots by different potters and different types of pottery such as Stoneware, Earthenware and Raku to help you have lots of pottery ideas.

The course is run in our old Cumbrian farmhouse which has a large garden. Accommodation is in one of our attached ETC fourstar properties. Homemade meals are included in the course fee - non-residential pottery courses are also available.

With over 40 years of potting experience, Dick and Barbara have been running pottery courses for nearly 20 years and are keen to share their knowledge and pottery experience with you.

Come and pot with us in the Western Lake District, near Wasdale and not far south of Whitehaven, at Gosforth just off the A595.

Phone Barbara on 019467 25296 for more details.
